One of the advantages of trying out deluxe sized samples is that you can see whether you want to go on to purchasing a full sized product. This palm sized bottle of Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Milk was part of a GWP set. I’ve so many Clinique deluxe sized products everywhere that it’s really about time I started reviewing them one by one!

Generally, I do not use cleansing milks even though I’ve been told time and again that due to my dry skin, it’s better for me to use cleansing milks rather than foaming cleansers. When I do use cleansing milks however, I prefer them to be thick and creamy. Take The Day Off Cleansing Milk is neither. It’s quite runny and certainly has the consistency of milk.

This milk cleanser can be tissued or washed off. I prefer the latter since I don’t believe in using tissues unless absolutely necessary like when there’s no access to water perhaps. The first time I used this cleanser, it didn’t remove all my make-up and by make-up, I mean all make-up other than eye make-up. There was a lot of residue when I used a cotton pad soaked in toner to wipe across my face.

Subsequent times, I massaged the cleansing milk a bit harder into my skin because I thought a bit more intense rubbing might do the trick but nope, results were more or less the same. Still had quite a bit of residue on my face.

Take The Day Off Cleansing Milk might be fine to remove light make-up like if you have just a layer of loose powder on but it hasn’t been very effective in removing my foundation, etc. Cleansing oils are a lot more effective than this product. I believe it retails at RM105 for 200ml.
