Lately, I have felt a little jaded by what I see of the latest makeup collections. I needed something exciting to pique my interest and make my life a bit more interesting. Little did I know that a saunter into Watsons KLCC would make my weekend that much better.
Introducing Collection Cosmetics, a UK brand which may be targeted towards the younger crowd. Prices are very reasonable which reminds me of essence (where is it available now?) and this new brand is on its 2nd day at Watsons KLCC. It may also be available at Watsons Sg Wang but I’ll find out more the week after next when I attend the official launch.
It would not be possible to feature all the products in one post but I’ll show you what I think are the highlights and star products of the brand which were recommended by the promoters instore and you can check them out the next time you visit Watsons KLCC.
The promoter informed me that these compact foundations are the brand’s bestsellers. Ivory 2 is probably the shade that fits most fair skin tones whereas Warm 1 may be a bit too light.
The BB shades are limited to just light and medium and retail at RM29.90.
This was the first product that caught my eyes – the Smokey Eye Palette as it has a good combination of medium, light and dark shades and the colour pay-off/pigments is not bad especially the dark shades. 3c is actually a cream base and you can layer all the other shades over it but swatches were done without the cream beneath as I wanted to see how well they would swatch on their own. Good value at RM33.90.
I gravitate towards greens and golds so I swatched these 2 trio eyeshadow palettes. They’re very small so if you used them everyday, they would finish quickly. The extreme right shade is the cream colour base, every palette has a cream base but again, the swatches were made without the base underneath so colour pay-off is quite good. They retail at RM29.90 each.
Love those multi-coloured blush compacts from high end brands like Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier but they are out of your budget? Then you might want to check out these Colour Shimmer Shade Blush. They have Blushalicious (pink tones) and Way-To-Glow (bronze tones). I would use them sparingly as they can be quite glowing. They retail at RM29.90.
1. Vanilla Sky – off white shade very ideal for highlighting
2. Gunmetal Glitz – lovely shade of blue grey
3. Vintage Blush – beige with hints of pink, another beautiful highlight shade
4. Hot Chocolate – neutral brown which I think will be the most popular shade here
5. Midnight Glam – THE shade if you want to pull off the ultimate sexy smokey eye look
6. Denim Diva – dark blue and gorgeous
These are my favourite products from Collection Cosmetics and I am walking the talk because I bought one of them. Can you guess which one? They’re RM24.90 so very affordable. I like the strong pigments and how they are truly waterproof because I had to wipe them off several times with my wet towel and very hard too before they came off. I love that they can be smudged as eyeshadow and also used as liner when the tip is sharpened finely.
I’d like to know what you all think just looking at the images. It’s definitely a brand for the budget-conscious. I love to discover brands with good quality makeup and feel like my RM100 can purchase a lot. I have a feeling I will be dropping by more often at Collection Cosmetics.
Oh yes, this is what I brought home. If you are there during weekends, just look for the promoter with the box of candy. Choose one of the colourful cards in her box, answer a really easy question about the brand and its products and you get to choose which candy you want. I felt like a kid in a candy store, I most certainly did.
This is a very useful post and everything is so affordable! I love the idea of giving candy to the customer, it can make me smile! 😀
Such thoughtful gift for the customer! Indeed the colours and swatches can be in par with the counter brands. Really pigmented from the photos !
I am running there tomorrow!
I had a feeling you would say that 🙂
Woah, the products is quite affordable and the sweets are cute!! How thoughtful are they!
