Dermalogica products have often been held in high regard as they are similar to professional use skincare and after all, they are only available at their facial salons so the products are similar to professional standard skincare. I have had this 30ml bottle of Special Cleansing Gel for some time now and it was about time to use it.
Described as a “soap-free, foaming gel cleanser with a refreshing lather thoroughly removes impurities without disturbing the skin’s natural moisture balance”, one of the 1st ingredients I noticed was sodium laureth sulfate. I guess that’s why it can produce so much foam.
Dermalogica’s recommendation on how to use Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
“Following the removal of PreCleanse, gently lather a pea-sized amount of gel in moistened hands and apply to dampened face and throat. Rinse with warm water. Follow with Multi-Active Toner and prescribed Dermalogica Moisturizer”
Indeed it is a clear gel which when added to water, lathers up for a gentle wash. Calming Balm Mint and Lavender extracts soothe the skin, while natural Quillaja Saponaria gently foams away toxins and debris for a super-clean surface. It managed to remove about 90% of my make-up but at least my skin didn’t feel dry and tight after it’d been rinsed off.

Oh, i see. My skin doesn’t really like cleanser that foams although I personally find cleansers that foam up are fun.
