There’s extra reason to rejoice this Diwali as we can now visit family and friends, even those across state borders. This afternoon, I visited my friend from university in Seremban for the first time in more than 10 years. She’d also invited her university friends who are Muslim so she catered food from a mamak restaurant.
Not being good with directions to anywhere new, I did get lost. I was actually very near her house but made a U-turn because Google maps informed me that I had arrived at my destination but I didn’t see the name of the road her house was on. I had to call her for directions as I then went further and further away from her house.
It was very nice to be among her family, especially her mother and mother-in-law whom I haven’t seen in over a decade. I was greeted warmly and had a great time snacking on the Deepavali goodies which I haven’t had in so many years.
To all who are celebrating, I wish you all a very Happy Diwali and hope everyone had a fantastic and unforgettable time among family and friends today.
