Dynasty Restaurant Renaissance KL showcased their MIGF 2015 Menu during a media preview a few days ago. Though Dynasty Restaurant has been with MIGF since the beginning, the restaurant manages to keep things fresh every time. This time around Dynasty Restaurant’s culinary talent, Executive Sous Chef Kok Chee Kin will be injecting a little individualistic westernism into the preparation of Festival dishes throughout October. Highlights of the Festival menu are Poached cod fillet, white glutinous rice with crispy suckling skin & pepper fondue and Tricolor noodles with crab meat & seafood.
APPETIZER
Chilean scallop with garlic sauce, abalone salad & black sesame shrimp bundle
The appetizer was beautifully presented with colourful edible flowers and the scallop is big. The flavours fused together so well and we got different textures too with the crunchiness from the black sesame shrimp bundle.
SOUP
Lobster & blue ocean treasure with pumpkin essence
This is a light version of pumpkin soup with sea cucumber and scallops. This hearty soup gave me such a warm sensation. This is a Chinese ham based soup.
MAIN COURSE
Poached cod fillet, white glutinous rice with crispy suckling skin & pepper fondue
The best part of this main course was (of course) the crispy suckling skin of which I wished there were a few more pieces of. The pepper fondue on the cod fillet wasn’t that spicy, it was a subdued pepper fondue which was nevertheless superb. The cod is imported from Australia and the peppers used are red, black, white and green.
MAIN COURSE
Tricolor noodles with crab meat & seafood
The noodles are so fine and light on the palate. The 3 noodles are tamago (egg), shiso (perilla) and mini udon. The soup is a chicken and wine broth. This is a dish one can have any time of day, it’s filling yet you don’t feel that it’s excessive.
DESSERT
Pandan layer cake, almond crisp & red pitahaya ice cream with bird’s nest
The sight of all these colourful fruits was so delightful that it seemed a shame to dig into it. The red pitahaya or dragonfruit ice cream was so refreshing and cooling. The bird’s nest on top is purely for decoration since bird’s nest has no taste but nice touch. The sweetest part of this dessert was the almond crisp laced with black sesame.
The Festival Menu is priced at RM228nett per person (without Wine) and RM278nett per person (with Wine) as well as RM188nett for a light Festival Menu without wines consisting of appetizers, soup, choice of one (1) main and dessert for those opting for a quick bite.
