We’re just a few days away from Valentine’s Day and I have no doubt fragrances will be selling like hot cakes which brings me to Especially Escada Elixir EDP, an interpretation of Escada’s rose-based fragrance, Especially Escada which was introduced in 2011. After Especially Escada, there was Especially Escada Delicate Notes in 2012. I normally associate Escada fragrances with fruity scents but the Especially Escada series has floral notes.
Especially Escada Elixir EDP comes in a bottle which looks similar to Especially Escada & Especially Escada Delicates Notes which is to say it’s in a chunky rectangular bottle with an ornate cap with the “E” symbols. I don’t like the shape of the bottle, takes up too much space.
Anyway, Especially Escada Elixir is said to be the intense version of Especially Escada but I don’t find it intense at all. Sure, I can smell the scent of rose when it’s sprayed on but within less than an hour, the scent wears off no matter how much I have sprayed on.
This scent begins with pear, ambrette seed and grapefruit. The heart includes Turkish rose absolut, ylang-ylang, accords of prune and fresh plums, laid on the base of patchouli, white musk, dry amber, cashmere and Madagascar vanilla. I don’t think the scent smells expensive, it’s not one I would associate with a luxury brand. However, some may beg to differ since scent is so subjective.
