Estee Lauder’s latest makeup collection, Wild Violet arrived at the counters about a week or so ago. The Chinese supermodel extraordinaire, Liu Wen is the face of the collection. Personally, I think it’s refreshing to have an Asian face fronting the collection as it’s a face Asian women can identify with even if few of us are blessed with her cheekbones.
The star or highlight of the collection is undoubtedly the Wild Violet eyeshadow palette which has a stunning, shimmery gold that’ll make any shrinking violet go wild. There are many potential colour combinations with this set of quints.
Texture is smooth and all swatches were done with just one swipe from the respective eyeshadows. For RM152, one gets quite a generous amount of eyeshadow (7.6g). The packaging matches the sophistication of the eyeshadow colours. The new lip colours retail at RM85 each.
With Tom Pecheux at the helm as Creative Makeup Director, I’m sure we’ll be seeing many more stellar makeup collections from Estee Lauder this year. That’s something to look forward to as I’ve always felt that Estee Lauder was more well known for its skincare than makeup.
Estee Lauder’s eye shadows are really excellent but priceyyyy 🙁
