A few days ago, I visited FROZEN at Bangsar Telawi for the first time and sampled their trio of Christmas Petit Gateaux which are a work of art. They are so beautiful that I couldn’t bear to cut them up. They are so instagrammable and they look like they should be in an ice cream gateaux museum so that everyone can go “oooh” and “aaah”!
These are the three gorgeous icy creations:
1. The Snowman, is made from Weiss 63% dark chocolate ice cream, hot chocolate fudge and toasted marshmallow.
2. The Pinecone is created from vanilla blackcurrant ice cream with candied chestnut and walnut dacquoise (a dessert cake made with layers of almond and hazelnut meringue and whipped cream or buttercream on a buttery biscuit base).
3. Red Bauble is made from hazelnut praline ice cream with apple cider coulis and vanilla sponge.
All the Petit Gateaux are made with premium ingredients which is why they tasted so rich and while I didn’t find them too sweet, they are rather filling and value-for-money. If you love chocolate, you will be more than satisfied with Snowman as it’s so filled with dark chocolate. However if you prefer something more unusual/unique, you will not be disappointed with Pinecone as the vanilla blackcurrant ice cream is not something I am accustomed to, this one is quite outstanding. I found Red Bauble had the richest taste of the trio. These amazing creations make a wonderful gift for anyone. They are impressive both in regard to quality and visual appeal.
