After our (failed) Break The Code+ attempts 2 Saturdays ago, one of my team mates and I headed for lunch at the nearby Gantetsu Ramen @ Eat Paradise One Utama Shopping Centre. We were feeling a bit deflated from our game sessions so we decided on one of the first restaurants we saw at Eat Paradise, Gantetsu Ramen.
Gantetsu Ramen has a few varieties of ramen, all priced between RM21.90 – RM28.90. They have Hokkaido Tonkotsu Ramen, Hokkaido Tonkotsu Black Garlic Flavour, Hokkaido Chashu Miso, Miso Ramen With Butter & Corn, Spicy Kimchi Miso Ramen.
Both of us ordered Hokkaido Tonkotsu Ramen @ RM21.90 (this place charges an additional 10% service charge) which came in a bowl not quite full of broth. We felt they could have been more generous with the broth. While the noodles had the right texture, I thought they could have had a bit more ingredients in there, maybe half an egg? Seemed rather sparse for that price.
The broth was okay but not fantastic, I couldn’t feel the “oomph” in the broth. It was a far cry from some other ramen restaurants I’ve tried in the Klang Valley. I’d be surprised if this is the quality of ramen in Hokkaido.
We’d also ordered 6 gyoza @ RM10.90. Small and even after devouring my share of the gyoza, I still went home feeling somewhat famished.
