Of late, there seem to be a lot of skincare formulated especially for Asian skins which isn’t surprising given the Asian predilection or preference for lighter skin tones. Hence, you will find so many brightening masks especially from Korea and Taiwan. Garnier Skin Natural’s latest sheet mask is the Intensive 3 In 1 Whitening Essence Tissue Mask for achieving brighter skin in 10 minutes, they claim.

The 3 key ingredients in the mask are:-

  • Tanggula Glacier Water – a first for Garnier Skin Naturals and the highlight of this product. Sourced from the peaks of the moutain range along the Tibetan plateau, Tanggula Glacier Water is packed with potassium and calcium, which help in retaining water in skin, leaving it feeling fresh and hydrated.
  • Scutellaria Extract – also known as the “Golden root”, this Japanese plant extract is known for its whitening properties. At the same time, its antioxidant action combats free radicals from skin, leaving it looking brighter and fairer.
  • Pure Lemon Essence – Garnier Skin Natural’s signature ingredient for its Light product range helps to restore skin’s radiance while cleaning away impurities with its antioxidant and brightening properties.

There wasn’t much of a citrusy scent and the texture of the mask is not as thin as the new generation of My Beauty Diary masks. Well, almost everyone has tried a My Beauty Diary mask so you’ll know what I mean. The recommended time for application is 10-15 minutes but as usual, with sheet masks, I leave them on for half an hour. Yes, I am aware that one should keep to the recommended time and wouldn’t suggest everyone follow my example but since the mask was still saturated with serum, I thought I might as well leave it on.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that this mask felt like a second skin but it did fit the contours of my face nicely.  The result is indeed brighter skin tone and it delivers a boost of hydration but with any sheet mask, effects are short-term. I usually use a sheet mask to prep my skin for a night out or if my skin is loooking terribly dull and sallow,

At RM7.90 per sheet, this mask is considered very affordable.
