Shadow Insurance is one of Too Faced’s most famous products since it’s their version of Urban Decay Primer Potion or UDPP, which will be up for review in a few days. As with any good eye shadow primer, Shadow Insurance claims to prevent fading, creasing, melting, blurring & oil slicked disasters.
When I used Shadow Insurance for the first time, what came out wasn’t the primer but water or was it oil? Actually, a fair bit of that liquid came out. Perhaps I should have given the tube a good shake prior to first use?
This silicone based eye shadow primer isn’t that thick or concentrated nor is the texture too thin. It’s just right for a smooth application on eyelids and it does settle and dry quickly. From the pic below, you can see that it does intensify eye shadow colours.
Where eye shadow colours were previously lacklustre and dull, they are instantly transformed into more intense colours. Having worn Shadow Insurance beneath eye shadows for 10+ hour days, I can safely say that it locks down my eye shadows and there is no fading, creasing or smudging during all hours of wear.
However, there seems to be a problem with the liquid/oil not adhering as well as it should to the primer. Occasionally, when I squeeze out the primer, what comes out is the liquid/oil so that is a bit annoying.
Shadow Insurance is 11g/RM69 and available at Sephora outlets.
