When it comes to lip balms/lip treatments, I admit that I am quite lackadaisical in that respect as I often forget about lip care. However, I am mindful of the importance of taking care of lips as dryness in that area can lead to cracked lips and lines so I apply lip balms as often as I can remember, which isn’t as regularly as I would like. Fatin has 2 of Fresh’s famous Sugar Lip Treatments reviewed here.
What’s two more lip balms to add to my currently 6 opened ones. Always great to have company. This time it’s Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, a lip care designed to nourish, protect and plump lips.
This one does a great job at moisturising and making my lips feel smooth. It goes on a tad heavy but doesn’t feel sticky or waxy. I find myself reaching for a lip balm less often when I have this one on. It does tend to last until I start to munch. Even then there’s always that bit left on my lips and unlike some balms that goes on matte or without effect, this one has a soft sheen to it.
The soft citrusy scent on these lip balms are somewhat calming. I like it. Expect no flavour or taste though. With the tinted ones, you’ll get a hint of colour to your lips, like the Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment which is suppose to give that just- bitten pout. It comes out a light shade of pink when I swatched it but the colour was a no show when I applied on my lips. No surprise there as my lips are of a slightly darker shade making light colours almost impossible to show, which explains why I don’t have a photo of me wearing it. It would probably show on lighter lips. I have no qualms with it as long as my lips feel moisturised.
Apart from the original and Rose, it also comes in Plum, Honey, and Passion Tints. So try out one of these to see which colour would show if you’re looking for a tinted one.
Oh and the tube.. it comes in this classy looking matte metal tube. Likey! Needless to say this heavier than usual lip balm has a durable casing and unlike the conventional click tube it’s a screw on. Have to keep reminding myself not to pull off the top.
The main ingredients that makes up Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment are sugar which is known to prevent moisture loss, a superior blend of nourishing oils which includes meadowfoam seed, black currant seed and jojoba, beeswax to seal in moisture and grapeseed polyphenols to protects, smooth and softens. It also contains SPF15 to protect your lips from those nasty uv rays.
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment retails at RM65 for 0.15oz at Sephora outlets.
