I have been searching for a suitable conditioner replacement and chanced upon H & S Head Spa Moisture Conditioner at Watson’s and there were just 2 bottles left, they didn’t even have any shampoo in the same range left. This is because the entire range was on 50% discount so the conditioner was just RM8.85 after discount.

Never heard of this range before so I googled, not much info on it either other than H & S possibly stands for “Head & Shoulders”? I purchased this conditioner because it can be used on the scalp too and you all know most conditioners are not to be used on the scalp. I needed something for my itchy scalp.

One of the key ingredients in H & S Head Spa Moisture Conditioner is Pyrithione Zinc which according to this article, has been shown to modestly increase hair growth. This is an excerpt from the article in relation to Head & Shoulders:-

“The most famous product containing zinc pyrithione is probably Head & Shoulders, but there are numerous different shampoos out there with the same active ingredient. A bit of Googling comes up with readily available products such as John Masters Organic Zinc and Sage shampoo, and prescription-only products like Dan-gard A-D. As long as the product contains 1% zinc pyrithione (the amount used in the studies), it probably doesn’t matter much which one you choose.”

There is quite a lot to like about this conditioner, my scalp feels less itchy after just one use and my hair is a lot softer. The conditioner has a very nice scent and I can understand why the normal retail price is RM17.70 even though the product is made in Thailand. This is a better conditioner than the majority of conditioners sold in drugstores. It’s one of those few conditioners that treat my hair as well as my scalp.
