Hooked On Himalaya Herbals

Ever since I tried my first Himalaya products, I have been on the look-out for more. I was browsing through the bodycare shelves of Guardian at MidValley when I came across a Himalaya® Herbals value buy, 2 body wash for RM13.90 (that’s the price of just 1 body wash at the Himalaya outlet opposite Guardian, MidValley) and there were 2 variations, Nourishing Cream & Honey and Protecting Neem & Turmeric.

Just when I thought I’d got a good deal, the very next day I spotted the Nourishing Cream & Honey set at AEON Wellness going for just RM12.90 (just as well Protecting Neem & Turmeric were out of stock there otherwise I might just have screamed), which is why it pays to scout around the pharmacies before buying any product, provided of course that time is not of the essence.

Nourishing Cream & Honey is for dry skin while Protecting Neem & Turmeric is for all skin types. I don’t have dry skin issues but at that price, it kind of made sense to get both sets before they disappeared off the shelves (and they have!).

Both of them are soap-free but do contain Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, the molecules of which are larger than Sodium Lauryl Sulfate which makes ALS less irritating to skin. I didn’t quite know what to expect of the Neem & Turmeric Body Wash, I thought it might smell of herbs. Turns out I really like its scent, a lot more than the Cream & Honey Body Wash, not that there is anything wrong with the latter’s scent. It’s just that the Cream & Honey Wash has the kind of scent which is well, pretty ordinary while the Neem & Turmeric Body Wash smells refreshing and much more unique.

Their textures/consistencies are different in that the Neem & Turmeric is a clear gel type wash and the Cream & Honey is thicker and creamy. No wonder AEON Wellness had sold out of the Neem & Turmeric while there was still plenty left of the Cream & Honey. While both lather up well, Neem & Turmeric makes me want to use it again and again if only to inhale the scent.

I think that they have average moisturising effect, the Cream & Honey doesn’t feel much more moisturising than the Neem & Turmeric. However, they do leave my skin feeling properly and thoroughly cleansed. Their scents don’t linger for long on my skin after my shower though.

For someone who usually uses soap, I would definitely repurchase the Neem & Turmeric Body Wash especially if it comes in a value pack again. It’s worth the RM13.90 for 2 x 200ml. I seem to be getting hooked on Himalaya products.
