Although I have been to Connexion@Nexus several times for various events and launches, I’d not been to The Oak Room until recently when I was invited to review their MIGF menu. The invitation came as such a pleasant surprise because I never expected to be invited by such a prestigious establishment. Before the food tasting, I was given a tour around the place and what a place it is!
Before you enter The Oak Room, you won’t realize just how spacious the interior is. Firstly though, The Oak Room isn’t open to the public 365 days a year. This is an exclusive, by invitation only venue to wine, dine and socialize but for the month of October, The Oak Room is open to non-members thanks to The Oak Room’s participation in MIGF. Most, if not all, their members are from the upper echelons of the business community and The Oak Room is where members can mingle business with pleasure in the form of wining, dining and even karaoke. This classy executive club offers an array of dining and leisure venues to cater to every member’s needs.
The main dining room can seat up to 100-110 guests and the ambiance is elegant, stylish and so classy.
There is an alfresco area with a great view provided the view isn’t dimmed by the smog but on non-smog days, this is a cool area to hang out with business associates and friends. The alfresco area can seat up to 36 persons.
Partake of The Oak Room’s signature mocktail, The Spice of Oak. There are some secret spices in this drink, very unique and refreshing!
There are several meeting rooms and one of them even has an en suite washroom so there’s no excuse for anyone to sneak off to the washroom outside and take a breather somewhere. This is the ideal room to “trap” your executives for an intense brainstorming session. Meeting packages are available which include lunch and tea/coffee breaks so again, no excuse for coming back late from lunch outside.
If I was privileged enough to be a member of The Oak Room, I reckon I’d be spending a lot of time in the peace and tranquility of the beautiful and elegant setting of the reading room. This is bliss!
Can this place get better? Yes it can as we head towards the wine room which is the perfect place to rest and relax with a bottle of wine of your choice.
If you make an appointment for a reflexology session, you can sit back and have your feet and legs massaged before dinner. This club has everything for members to work and play hard.
After dinner, why not sing your heart out in one of two karaoke rooms? The package includes drinks and snacks. Before you know it, you’ll be hoarse from singing every song available there.
After the grand tour of The Oak Room, I was so impressed with the place as it has everything a busy business person could possibly want or need. This is the ideal club for networking, negotiating and striking deals. At the same time, food and beverage here are superb. They are also very discreet and one can be assured that the service here is excellent.
