Today is the first day of In’ Health & Beaute Expo held at MIECC, Mines Resort City. According to their website, there are more than 180 booths. This was my second visit to MIECC, the first time was many years ago. If you park at The Mines (Shopping Mall), there is a link bridge from The Mines to MIECC. Parking is just RM1 per entry on weekdays and RM2 per entry on weekends & public holidays.
Going today was good because there weren’t many people, the crowd will most likely pick up this weekend. There are exhibitors offering beauty products (not many cosmetics) but there seems to be more of an emphasis on health products.’
My Beauty Diary’s booth offers many varieties of masks including the Sake Yeast Mask which I have not seen at Guardian or anywhere else. There are many brands which I have not seen or heard of before.
The Body Shop is offering 2 Shower Gels (choose between Dewberry, Apple & Fuzzy Peach) for RM25 and all products under the Lychee range are 30% off, there’s fragrance, body butter, body lotion and shower gel.
Esmeria is offering its starter sets for RM20 (n/p RM39.90), choose between sets for mature skin, oily skin and dry skin. Buds Baby products are also on sale at the same booth. It’s located just next to The Body Shop’s unique “booth”.
The Bubble Lab specialises in Handmade Soaps, some of the designs are so cute that I would find it hard to put to use. There are 14 types of rectangular shaped soaps in total, each with a wonderful blend of scents. They cost RM13 per 100g and are cut to order but I’m not sure how much the fancy soaps (which would appeal to the young and the young at heart) cost.
Chelsey Lim is the creative mind behind these soaps. She does it as a hobby but I think she certainly has the potential to develop a thriving business with her skills. Currently, she is selling the soaps at different bazaars. She can be contacted at 012-226 8573 or b_bubbles@live.com.
Cubbees offers online shopping with free delivery. At their booth, you can purchase a wide range of Sana skincare products at 15% discount and they also sell Slim Walk pantyhose, body shaping inner wear, socks and stockings.
Then there is a booth offering complimentary 5 minute shoulder massages, drop by Samkkya which is a natural health care centre located in Brickfields and Bangsar offering Ayurvedic treatments. This is very interesting and I intend to find out more about the centre in due course. The Star has featured the centre and its treatments.
Last but not least, I dropped by Simply Organic which sells haircare products which originated from Florida, USA. The products are formulated with olive oil and olive leaf extract. They contain no parabens or sodium lauryl sulfate and the products are not tested on animals.
The Expo is open from 11am-9pm and there are a few booths worth checking out. Admission is free.
