dsc_4303One of my dogs has a flea problem which led to me being attacked by the flying critters during my sleep and there are so many puncture marks on my legs and arms, I can’t even count. Something drastic had to be done other than getting flea treatment/shampoo for the dog. This is the first time it’s so bad and I’ve no idea how the fleas came to target my dog as she’s never had this problem before. So off I went to the pharmacies to hunt for an insect repellent spray. Found a few (not many choices at any of the pharmacies) and decided on KAPS Natural Insect Repellent Spray at Caring Pharmacy.

KAPS Natural Insect Repellent Spray contains citronella oil, jojoba oil and tea tree oil. It’s recommended to be sprayed on every 2-3 hours which means it’d definitely lose its effectiveness during my sleep. For the first night, I woke up a few times and sprayed it on because I was so afraid of getting more bites. I’ve already gone through a few boxes of bandages which are very useful to prevent scratching.

I’d say it works because there have been minimal bites ever since I started using it 3 days ago. However, the bottle could be bigger as I’ve almost run out of it and it’s only been 3 days. Priced at RM11.83 for 75ml.

  1. Are you sure it’s flea bites? Not bed bugs? Sorry, I have bed bugs paranoia, even though I’m an entomologist, aka insect expert. Hahaha… For dog flea problems, my friend recommended me Frontline spray, I tried and it works.

    • At first I thought they were bed bugs too but then I googled and saw the difference. The dog has plenty of fleas and yeah I have just bought Frontline and hopefully no more fleas from today. Btw, I got bitten by a reddish insect last week, it sucked my blood and I was going to send you a photo of said insect for identification LOL!
