The most innovative product from Kate Spring/Summer 2012 Collection was this Art Dial Mascara. It doesn’t have the conventional wand. The applicator for this mascara is in the form of a comb and you dispense the product by twisting the top of the mascara, similar to some concealers.
In this way, you don’t get a mascara that dries up quickly and air doesn’t get inside which is a lot more hygienic. So that would be the advantages of having this kind of mascara. However, I found it a little tedious as I had to wipe the comb each time there was excess product on the comb. Of course you don’t really have to but I dislike seeing product build-up, it bothers me.
Then there is the issue of clumping. Yes, it seriously clumped my lashes so much so I could barely see when I blinked. Although it didn’t smudge or budge after many hours of wear, I think I will stick to the conventional mascaras as this one clumped too much for my liking. Also, elongation and volumisation of lashes was just average, nothing fantastic.
KATE Art Dial Mascara retails at RM59.
The comb head looks scary. I’m scared I’ll accidentally poke my eyes coz I’m clumsy.
Actually, it is quite pokey. I don’t like comb applicator. Brush much more easy to use.
