Khoon Hooi’s latest collection for Spring/Summer 2013 was showcased to a full house at Pentas 2, KLPAC and graced by the presence of Prof. Dato’ Dr.Jimmy Choo. The Collection comprised 32 pieces modelled by 20 female models including one of the most famous Malaysian models currently based in New York, Gwen Lu.
This Spring/Summer 2013 Collection was inspired by orchids, hence there was a lot of black, canary yellow, cobalt blue and forest green seen in this Collection. Khoon Hooi has a passion for prints and fascination for playing with different fabrics and colours.
“I love to play with colour for Spring. As a designer, it is part of my job to pick a trend and to design clothes but I also need to create styles for my customers to be individuals. In this collection, sihouette is part of the big story and I’ve combined structural ruffles into it upping the provocation factor and giving it a modern style,” said Khoon Hooi.
“Every collection is a new challenge and excitement for me. I want to inspire women to have their very own styles. In this collection, I emphasised hips on jackets, peplums, zipped line were stirred into the mix with plaids or printed florals. It gives a new dimension and style giving it a fresh and trendy look to the entire collection,” he added.
Khoon Hooi Spring/Summer 2013 Collection brings forth the modernity, trendy, structured yet elegant silhouettes, embracing the feminine details of beautiful orchids combined with Khoon Hooi’s very own idiosyncratic style.
