Albert Nico who has more than 30 years experience in the hair styling industry, launched his book ‘When Dreams Come Alive’ at his salon in Fahrenheit 88, Bukit Bintang this afternoon. He is also a L’oreal Professionnel Artistic Ambassador initiated the book with the intention of inspiring the future generation of young aspiring hair stylists.
‘When Dreams Come Alive’ contains many photos of Albert’s award-winning creations and the story of his early life, how he became who he is today. He started off as a shampoo boy at the age of 15 and with a lot of hard work and determination, became the owner of Hotheads Salon at the age of 20.
Over the years, Albert has demonstrated his passion and commitment to his craft at various artistic hair styling events. In 2000, he was first runner-up at the L’oreal Malaysia Colour Trophy Awards for his creation of a short modern bob style.
In 2002, Albert was invited by L’oreal Professionel to be their Artistic Ambassador (2002-2004). In 2007, he was once again appointed to be the L’oreal Professionel Artistic Ambassador (2007-present).
Albert established his eponymous salon in 2008 and is currently the Vice President of the Malaysian Hairdressing Association. He is very popular among royalties, celebrities and prominent celebrities.
At the same time, L’oreal Professionnel launched the Steampod, the 1st powerful steam smoothing system, the product of 5 years of research and development with 8 patents. This is a successful joint effort between L’oreal Professionnel and Rowenta, the world leader in household appliances.

Steambond Service
The 1st steam-activated long lasting straightening service with X-Tenso Moisturist and X-Tenso Pro-Keratine Care. The time of service is about 3 hours vs. 3.5 hours of classical straightening service (depending on hair length).
Steamcare Service
The 1st steam-activated long lasting hair fibre treatment/reparation service with Pro-Keratin Care for smooth and mirror shine hair. This service can be done for all hair types or as a follow-up treatment 1 month after Steambond service. The time of the service is about 1.5 hours (depending on hair length).
All the services and products will be available at selected L’oreal Professionnel Salons from October 2012.
