As a Malaysian, I am supposed to understand the national fervor for all things durian. As a child, one of my uncles would cart over dozens of durians whenever the fruit was in season and my entire house would smell of durian for days. I don’t love durians or even like them half as much as the average Malaysian but I can appreciate why people would go out of their way to buy the durians they want. It’s just like if you can only get the really good stuff once a year, you will go all out to get it.
Now when it comes to ice cream ‘Potong’ though, this is something from my childhood which makes me feel nostalgic whenever I see it. For 40 years, King’s has served delicious ‘Potong’ frozen confection. King’s Potong Gold range promises to delight the palate with quality ‘Potong’ made from only fine quality ingredients.
King’s introduces the new Mao Shan Wang Ice Confection by King’s Potong Gold. Made with 100% Mao Shan Wang puree from Malaysia and free from any artificial flavouring, a stick of this icy goodness is as good as it gets. Durian connoisseurs will be thrilled with the bittersweet goodness and seductive aroma of this icy treat from King’s Potong Gold. The infusion of coconut milk adds an additional dose of richness that is sure to impress even the most discerning palate.
Mao Shan Wang is famous for its bittersweet, velvety flesh and when I bit into this confection, I could taste the pureness of durian. Didn’t taste artificial at all, very creamy and not at all icy. I could tell that it’s made with premium ingredients.
The limited edition King’s Potong Gold Mao Shan Wang Durian Ice Confection will be available from April 2016 at leading supermarkets, hypermarkets and selected convenience stores for RM3.80 a stick (60ml) or RM21.90 for a box of six sticks.
