Even we beauty junkies have eyeshadows that we use more often than others and for me, L’oreal Open Eyes Chrome Intensity Palette Magic Amber is one of the palettes I have been using frequently so much so that one of the shades has hit the pan. There were 4 such palettes available about 2 years ago – the others had a combination of pinks, blues and browns. I liked every one of the palettes but my favourite was Magic Amber simply because the shades were so bright and cheerful.
Generally, the textures are more towards frosty with shimmer. My favourite shades are the amber and yellow, perfect combination. They are so easy to blend whether with fingers or brush and they last all day without fading even without an eyeshadow primer underneath.
The plastic palette has no mirror but at such affordable pricing below RM50, I wouldn’t expect extras. The sponge applicator has an end for applying eyeshadows and another end for eyeliner. The darkest shade in the palette is the brown and when added with Inglot Duraline, makes quite a good eyeliner.
This is seriously one of the nicest combination of eyeshadows from a drugstore brand I’ve ever owned. I just wish L’oreal would come up with more of such palettes as the eyeshadows are easy to work with and colour pay-off is even better than some counter brand eyeshadows.
These colour make my eyes look less tired and to my surprise, I’ve been getting compliments from people whenever I wear these. They’re surprised when I inform them that it’s from a L’oreal palette. Now who says drugstore eyeshadows aren’t good quality? I would repurchase if L’oreal ever came back with the Open Eyes Chrome Intensity palettes.
