L’oréal Paris Lucent Magique Range – Pure Light Primer, Light-Infusing Foundation, Light Touch-Up Pen, Skin Luminating Tri-Powder Foundation
L’oréal Paris Lucent Magique range is known as Lumi Magique in other parts of the world such as UK and Australia. The Lucent Magique range is targeted at women who want to achieve a flawless complexion in just one application. The brand’s patented Liquid Light Technology brings illumination and luminosity to one’s complexion.
The Lucent Magique range consisted of the Pure Light Primer, Light-Infusing Foundation, Light Touch-Up Pen and Skin Luminating BB Cream and yesterday, L’oréal Paris launched a new addition to the range in the form of Lucent Magique Skin Luminating Tri-Powder Foundation. This is their first tri-tone skin illuminating powder foundation for a lit-from-within complexion as well as helping create your ideal face shape for a natural and beautiful finish.
Skin Luminating Tri-Powder Foundation SPF19 PA+++ is infused with the precious pink tourmaline gemstone, a favourite for L’Oréal Paris. Pink tourmaline gemstone functions as a radiance agent in Skin Luminating Tri-Powder Foundation SPF19 PA+++, giving a touch of rosy glow.
The Powder Foundation contains Light Pearls Powder for a semi-matte finish. Upon application, Light Pearls Powder provides skin with that as if lit-from-within, translucent complexion. There’s also a Whitening Complex for a shine-free, brighter and fairer complexion.
L’oréal Paris has 3 steps for achieving that sculpted 3D look:-
1. Sculpt with Primer.
2. Contour with Foundation.
3. Accentuate with Highlighter.
L’oréal Paris’ tips for creating different face shapes:-
SQUARE FACE: To create a longer and narrower face shape, use a darker shade Light-Infusing Foundation and blend along your jawline. This helps to “slim” down your strong jawline. Then highlight the cheek and chin area with the Light Touch-Up Pen.
MOON FACE: Use a darker shade Light-Infusing Foundation to hide your pointed chin. Highlight your cheeks with the Light Touch-Up Pen or Pure Light Primer to bring out your features.
FLAT NOSE: Apply a darker shade Light-Infusing Foundation along the side of your nose. Blend well. Then add a lighter shade on top of your nose bridge to create a 3D illusion. Finish off with the Light Touch-Up Pen on the bridge to create a sculpted high nose.
One of Malaysia’s most famous make-up artists, Monica Lee was present at the launch as she demonstrated the use of the Lucent Magique products on 2 models. Monica explained that the Lucent Magique Skin Luminating Tri-Powder Foundation can be used dry or wet. It can be used on the T-zone as a highlight powder. The Primer is good for dry skins and can enhance one’s bone structure while the Light Touch-Up Pen can be used to contour, highlight and shade, it can be used to minimise the appearance of laughing or ageing lines on the bottom half of the face.
We were passed a cooked egg and the Pure Light Primer. On one side of the egg was some primer from another brand which I shall call Brand X, the primer lacked luminosity. Then we were asked to apply the Pure Light Primer on the other side of the egg and we could see the difference immediately.
The launch was held at Guardian Sunway Pyramid which features L’oréal Paris’s latest international counter design known as the Sparkle Gold Counter. This is an interactive beauty bay where customers can take their time testing the products. Guardian Sunway Pyramid is the first to feature this new counter design.
I’ll review the Touch-Up Pen as I think this is quite interesting. Skin Luminating Tri-Powder Foundation SPF19 PA+++ is available in a refill compact. There are five as-if-lit-from-within illuminating shades – Nude Vanilla, Apricot Ivory, Golden Ivory, Vanilla Ivory and Golden Caramel. These are shades developed especially for Asian skin tones. You can choose from three different finishes – golden, rosy and neutral– according to your skin tone. It retails at RM59.90. Refills are available at RM39.90.
