After 14 weeks, 50 videos, 10 finalists and a 2-day Makeup Designer Bootcamp, the winner of L’oreal Paris The Brush Contest Malaysia is finally revealed! 30 year old Jamie Tan, a Business Analyst with Malaysia Airlines was selected as the brand’s national winner and she will represent Malaysia in the global makeup designer competition’s finale in Cannes next month.
As the world’s first-ever international makeup designer contest happening exclusively on Youtube, The Brush Contest has received overwhelming response from beauty lovers around the world. It was held simultaneously in 12 countries including France, Thailand, Malaysia and more, inviting amateur, professional and potential makeup artists to ignite their creativity and use every colour, tone and shade possible to turn faces into masterpieces.
The objective and concept of The Brush Contest is in line with L’Oreal Paris’ vision of ‘Sharing Beauty For All’, because true beauty transcends all, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or even geographical location. With The Brush Contest, L’Oreal Paris aims to discover a Makeup Designer, who will go on to become part of the L’Oreal Paris Makeup Designer team.
The response for The Brush Contest in Malaysia was extremely well received. L’Oreal Paris received more than 100 entries from all parts of the country, where Malaysian makeup and beauty enthusiasts sent in their interpretation of the theme, “Color Clash”. 50 of the best videos were revealed for public voting and the top 10 shortlisted makeup aficionados went on to secure a place in the National Finals, where they attended a Makeup Designer Bootcamp conducted by L’Oreal Paris Malaysia.
L’oreal Paris Malaysia The Brush Contest Winner will be off to Cannes for the International Grand Finale of The Brush Contest
The Malaysian winner of The Brush Contest will continue to battle it out during the International Grand Finale of The Brush Contest with respective winners from the other participating countries, where the ultimate prize up for grabs consists of a professional 1-year contract with L’Oreal Paris Makeup Designer team (worth 100,000€)! As a L’Oreal Paris Makeup Designer, the winner of The Brush Contest will also have the opportunity to participate in beauty shoots, tutorial creation and interviews, as well as join in part of the excitement at the Makeup Academy in Cannes.
Inspired by pastel shades of cotton candy, Jamie’s winning look features a combination of sweet pink and blue that blends into purple hue, further accentuated with navy blue eyeliner to open up the eyes. Jamie used True Match foundation and Faux Cils Papillon. The eye makeup is complemented with a gradient lip colour in striking pink, finished with L’Oreal Paris Color Riche L’Extraordinaire in Fuchsia Pink 106. Color Riche L’Extraordinaire is a liquid lip colour that contains micro-oils and rich colour pigments for the ideal balance of colour and care. Its unique soft-touch applicator allows for a silky-smooth, gliding application.
The Grand Finale of L’Oreal Paris The Brush Contest will be broadcast on YouTube on 11 June 2015, hosted by L’Oreal Paris spokesperson and Woman of Worth, Eva Longoria.
