There were some very colourful and eye-catching pigment colours in MAC’s Fall Colour Collection. Out of all the pigments, I was most drawn towards Emerald Dusk, a shimmery dark green-gray. I thought this was perfect for a smoky eye look.
MAC’s pigments are very fine and come in a glass bottle with a black, plastic cap. The pigments are best used with an eyeshadow primer so that they will adhere easier. I find it more practical to use them with a brush rather than fingers.
Emerald Dusk is a beautiful colour and that’s just the kind of look I’d be going for if I had to attend a dinner or evening function. Of course, the look above wasn’t created by me, I wish I had that kind of skill. I’d asked MAC’s Special Events Artist, Stev Chong for some tips on how to pair Emerald Dusk with other eyeshadows. He said that it can be paired with browns or neutral shades to create the effect of deep-set eyes.
I didn’t experience any fall-out from the pigment. They do hold fast as long as the proper base is used. Much as I like some MAC eyeshadows, I like their pigments even more. I do think they are one of the best pigments around.
MAC’s pigments are 4.5g /RM82.
