MAC Colour Added Eye Shadow Quad

This is one of the three shadow quads from the Shop MAC Cook MAC Collection – a combination of yellow and blue shades. Out of the 4 shades, Colour Added is the brightest and probably most outstanding shade. I’d call it a canary yellow but it doesn’t exactly have a greenish tinge.

All the shades swatched well except for the last one, Self-Serve which is a difficult colour to show up on my skin. It isn’t as pigmented as the other shades and I would have liked to have seen a different colour to complement the other three.

I wish I could say I created the above look entirely on my own but no, I sought the assistance of one of MAC’s Artists at Pavilion as I was making a mess with the shadows and I needed to learn how best to use the quad. Reyo layered on more Pre-Packaged on my crease and applied Colour Added above the crease. Self-Serve was brushed on to the outer corners of my eyes.

Colour Added and Pre-Packaged go really well together but I still can’t bring myself to like Self-Serve. I’d say this quad applied much better with proper brushes than fingers, as is the case with many of MAC’s eye shadows. MAC eye shadows aren’t as easy to use as some other brands and it is important to use the right tools otherwise you’d end up being very disappointed with them. These eye shadows are best used over an eye shadow primer.

The Colour Added Eye Shadow Quad (5.6g) retails at RM140.
