In continuation with MAC Cosmetics Technique Workshop From Femme To Feline, Haritha explained that it’s better to get a shade of foundation darker than your skin tone than lighter as you can always control the darker shade with powder or highlighter to brighten whereas it’s harder to control lighter foundation.
She recommended using Matchmaster Foundation which has Shade Intelligence Technology, 1 shade can match 3 skin tones. Once dry in cold climates, it sets like a powder but because this is a warm climate, set it with powder.
The PRO Concealer Palette contains 2 highlighters and 4 concealers. MAC concealers are divided into NC and NW categories:-
NC – neutral cool yellow based
NW – neutral warm pink based
Set with Studio Careblend Powder for a natural look with porcelain finishing. Dab and let it absorb into foundation. Start blending outwards for nice, solid skin. Powder can be 1 shade lighter as it can absorb into foundation.
If you have sparse brows, use an eyebrow pencil but notif you have full brows, use eye shadow to line brows. Angled Flat Definer Brush 212 pushes up the colour. For eyeliner, draw the pencil on lash line, it doesn’t matter if the line is straight or not. Blend upwards.
Using 239 Eye Shader Brush and 224 Tapered Blending Brush, tap the eye shadow in the centre of the lid. Placement of eye shadow sticks better in the middle, tap first. Pencil liner can be used but not recommended for smoky eye look, push the colour upwards.
Stick on lashes when glue is semi-dry, use a tweezer if doing it on your own. Control by tapping on centre of the lids first and then sides. Draw pencil liner on the waterline and seal with shadow.
For cheeks, use a shade 2 shades darker than your skin tone. Create contour by applying the blush or Mineralize Skin Finish in a “3” motion. Do not bring the blush below the nose.
Apply Prep + Prime Lip for longer-lasting lip colour and for it to go on smoothly without flaking. More on this product soon as I have a review waiting to be posted. Too many reviews and too little time at the moment. I need more than 24 hours a day.
Here’s my makeover with Peaches & Melba Blush and Chatterbox Lipstick.
Not as polished since I did it myself for the most part but I still like it nevertheless!
Love how the make over turned out! So beautiful!
Thanks for the tips for the foundation. I didn’t know that we should get darker shades instead of a lighter one!
