Now we all know there are plenty of beauty events/launches in KL every week and there are few and far between in other major cities such as Penang and JB which is why Penangites had a rare treat with the MAC A Fantasy Of Flowers event in Queensbay Mall a few evenings ago. I’ll let The Blue Flamingo (the true-blue MAC addict) tell you all about it.
A flower blooms in a spring awakening in MAC’s A Fantasy of Flowers Event. This event kicked off MAC’s annual spring collection launch, which for the first time was held on the 26th of March, 2014 at MAC’s newly opened Queensbay Mall stand alone store. The Queensbay store is the first MAC stand alone store in the northern region and it has been open since the last quarter of 2013. Unfortunately, not many are aware of it, unless one is a regular visitor of Queensbay Mall. For those who are unaware, this MAC store is located on the Ground Floor of Queensbay Mall and is just alongside the Dome outlet.
The Fantasy of Flowers launch party sought to introduce the Queensbay Mall store to the public as well as to introduce MAC’s Senior Artist, Haritha Shan to Penangites. Haritha, who was aided by her assistants, Ash and Reyo, gave a brief talk about the makeup trends of the season and she followed that up with a quick makeup demo on a model, who was all dressed up as a pink flower. During the makeup demo, Haritha shared with the audience some backstage makeup tips which she picked up from her experience working at the various international fashion weeks.
For the first time, this event brought together the who’s who of the media world of beauty and makeup in Penang as well as several local professional makeup artists. Apart from the local MAC management and staff whom I am familiar with, not being someone from t recognise most of the people who were there that night. However, a local celebrity I did manage to recognise was Joey G, the famous DJ/VJ.
All in all the Fantasy of Flowers spring launch party was a resounding success. It is not often that such launch parties are held in Penang. There was free flowing drinks and finger food served throughout the night. Everything, including the finger food served at the event, which itself was a work of art, was very colourful and in accordance with the theme of the night which was A Fantasy of Flowers.
