This is a very delayed post as I should have posted this by mid-May (no obligation though) but other posts took priority and there were a lot of the latter. On 8 May, I joined a majority of MUAs who are MAC PRO members (like myself but of course I am not a MUA), who attended the MAC #Glowstack PRO Masterclass with Anton Zimin, MAC’s Senior Artistry Manager (MAC Asia Pacific).
Anton Zimin demonstrated two looks before dozens (probably over a hundred) of very enthusiastic MUAs. Actually it was a good crowd who truly paid attention as Anton continuously fielded a multitude of questions from the audience. In fact, they asked more questions than at the majority of media press conferences I have been to where you’d be hard pressed to even hear one question asked by the media.
This being a #Glowstack Masterclass, naturally Anton used products from MAC’s Glowstack collection, in particular the Hyper Real Serumizer, a serum-moisturizer hybrid that balances, retexturizes and strengthens the skin barrier for a petal-soft, pore-minimized canvas with lit-from-within radiance. Designed to be used with or without makeup, this science-backed and Artist-approved serum-moisturizer hybrid balances, retexturizes and strengthens the skin barrier for a petal-soft, pore-minimized canvas with lit-from-within radiance. The high-performance formula is powered by MAC’s Pro-4 Power Infusion Matrix™ that features resilient and rare Japanese Peony Extract, 4% skin-refining Niacinamide, hydrating and plumping Hyaluronic Acid, and restorative Ceramides to deliver immediate and long-lasting results. Infused with a blend of ultra-fine, light-diffusing pearlescent particles, the formula subtly enhances skin for a healthy-looking glow.
MAC #Glowstack Collection is a buildable radiance system that works with your skin for a healthy, multi-dimensional glow.
I thought that the 1st look was more natural to leave the model’s skin glowing, plump and smooth, just like what you see on celebrities’ faces during major awards ceremonies or on the red carpet for movie previews.
After the lunch break, Anton demonstrated the 2nd look which I liked because it is edgier and more colourful. Anton informed us that this was MAC’s summer trend, Colour Clash which focuses on the eyes which complements pink bubblegum lips just like in the Barbie movie.
For the 2nd look, Anton began by applying eyeshadows from MAC’s Connect In Colour Eye Shadow Palette : Hi-Fi Colour. Bold brights: re-energized. Take off in a rave of technicolour with this saturated 12-pan eye shadow palette innovated with one-swipe, pure pigment payoff for limitless artistic to otherworldly looks. This interstellar spectrum of hypnotic neons and classic colours features a lightweight, silky-smooth texture in a range of matte, shimmer, glitter and metallic finishes. Our first-of-its-kind formula seamlessly melts across lids – allowing for effortless application, buildability and blendability as you customize your eyes your way. MAC’s most pigmented eye shadow to date is formulated with up to 25% higher pigment load compared to previous M·A·C Eye Shadow palettes. Plus, this Artist-curated palette is your portal to an ever-changing online universe of inspiration with a scannable QR code.
This was a rare opportunity to learn from a Senior MUA of a world-famous makeup brand. It was an excellent Masterclass, one not to be missed if one were to have received an invitation. That’s why it is worth it to be a MAC PRO member.
The participants of the Masterclass went home with a box filled with makeup and skincare. It was such a great experience being part of this Masterclass and then to be given a box like this, it really made my week!
