Proenza Schouler is a New York based womenswear and accessories brand founded in 2002 by designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. The duo met while studying at Parsons School of Design eventually collaborating on their senior thesis which became their first collection as Proenza Schouler. Named after the designers’ mothers’ maiden names, the collection was bought in its entirety by Barneys New York.
In their collaboration with MAC, one of the lipsticks is Mangrove, an orange red matte. I knew it was a matte texture as soon as I applied it as it is rather drying. However, that also means it’s more long-lasting and doesn’t fade within 4 hours. It’ll hold on even when I’ve had a drink a few times.
The design of the casing is worthy of a collaboration with a well known fashion house as it’s ombre and square shaped. It feels heavy and expensive. This is one of the nicest packaging MAC came up with last year. MAC Proenza Schouler Mangrove Lipstick is a beautiful color and one which would look stunning on women of all skin tones.
