It was quite a last minute decision to join MUFE’s Artist Shadows makeup demo last weekend as I’d just called them to enquire whether some products I was supposed to collect were instore and I thought I would ask whether their makeup demo session on Saturday or Sunday were full. Since their Saturday session still had some spaces, I reserved my spot.
With 210 new Artist Shadows to choose from, it’s difficult to decide on which one to bring home. There were several shades I was very tempted by but I don’t feel a sense of urgency since these are permanent. The makeup demo was presented by MUFE’ Retail & Education Manager, Simone Tey.
Simone started by using HD Primer which comes in 6 color-correcting shades and one colorless shade to correct skin imperfections. The colored pigments are absorbed by the skin for an invisible correction. The primer is the preferred choice for photo shoots as it contains no SPF and therefore this is more suitable than primers with SPF.
Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation was used which conceals skin imperfections, evens out the complexion and matifies with a non-oily powdery finish. This foundation provides a natural, matte look to the complexion and several layers can be applied to help conceal blemishes and create a supple and elastic velvety finish. Start application of foundation from the T-zone.
After applying foundation, apply HD Concealer which covers imperfections and creates a “soft focus” effect around the eye area for a natural, radiant look. Its soft silicone applicator enables high precision application. The HD Concealer is available in 14 shades to suit every skin tone. Using this concealer covers fine lines and there will be no obvious cracks under the eyes.
Next it’s on with the HD Powder, an extremely fine powder available in one universal shade to make the skin absolutely radiant. It sets the foundation and matifies the skin without changing its natural contours. Consisting of mineral silica powder, its talc-free formula is non-drying. Its universal translucent shade matches all skin tones. The HD Powder can be worn alone or applied over foundation.
HD Blush is then applied, this unique formula melts on the skin for an extremely natural flush of color with a long lasting result. Formulated with the perfect balance of silica powder and synthetic mica, HD Blush has a soft focus effect that diffuses light for a radiant finish. Its blend of waxes and oils creates a lightweight texture that easily glides on the skin for a flawless result. Simone applied it on the model’s cheeks in an ‘8’ motion for warm dimension, this is MUFE’s classic application for bush and there are 3 other MUFE methods for applying blush.
Simone applied the pink shade (1st image above, 2nd row, 2nd from right) of Artist Shadow on the model. The pink shade has a Diamond texture which means highly pigmented with shimmer. This was followed by eyeliner, mascara, gloss over the model’s own fuchsia lipstick and does she not look fantastic? It’s a natural yet totally gorgeous and stunning look!
For the 2nd look, Simone used the purple shades in the palette.
The second model looks equally beautiful in MUFE’s Artist Shadows. Purple shadows look great on any skin tone!
