With so many chemicals in our skincare and make-up (it’s unavoidable especially if you are a beauty blogger unless you are a beauty blogger who’ll only review chemical-free products), it’s a welcome change to receive a make-up product which contains only certified organic pigments. Their products are even suitable for vegans or vegetarians and are certified halal as licensed by the Malaysian Government. None of the products have been tested on animals. In fact, it’s stated on the brand’s website that the founder, Paul Pender was booted out of his native country, Holland for refusing to test skincare products on animals. I applaud him for his stance as I’d do the same if I had a skincare company.
When I saw the Paul Penders Natural Cream Lipstick in the MIVVA February box, I had no idea where it was manufactured. Then I took a closer look at the box and it states that it’s made by Paul Penders Co., Langkawi UNESCO Geopark. I was thinking Langkawi where? Surely not Langkawi, Malaysia? Yup, it’s made right there in our very own Langkawi.
All of Paul Penders’ cosmetics contain LevensESSENTIE Gold®,an extract made from 22 certified organic herbs. The Natural Cream Lipstick is one of their 10 best, unique and interesting products. There are 8 shades altogether :-
The Natural Cream Lipsticks are described as having a matte texture so I expected the lipstick to be slightly drying but it wasn’t. It’s very creamy and feels moisturising, almost like a lip balm effect. Tearose is described as a light bluish pink but it looks more like a peach-pink to me.
I am still trying to decide if I like the shade, it’s not horribly pale but it’s not my usual kind of shade either. It’s quite a good contrast to a strong eye look like when you are wearing smoky eye shadows. It doesn’t seem like it’s 100% opaque and I can see that it enhances the lines on my lips which is not so good. If I could have chosen any of the shades, I would have gone for Rosewood which looks like a slightly stronger shade than Tearose.
It didn’t have fantastic staying power, it fades within a few hours and if I’ve had an entire cup of water or hot beverage, I feel like I need to re-apply. Otherwise it is comfortable wearing this lipstick as it never felt drying on my lips.

the color look slightly pale on you. the wearing hours was not that long because it is organic pigment?
You’re right, it is pale so not something I am used to. Could be that reason (organic pigment).
