The reason I have such seemingly fantastic self-control when I attend beauty warehouse sales is simple – I only buy brand which support me as a blogger. I wouldn’t spend on brands that have ignored me all this while since I have other options. Same thing when it comes to paying full price for beauty products – so many brands to choose from so I purchase only from brands which have or should I say continue to invite me to their events and sponsor products for my review. I think that’s only fair.
I used to purchase Korean products but then I got dropped from their media list and when I bumped into one of the brand managers of a very popular K beauty brand which I used to purchase, I told him I am still being left out of his launches. All he said was “Well, these things happen”. Errr…..they don’t happen unless you allow them to happen. Not exactly the most diplomatic reply. What the heck does that mean exactly? That you don’t give a damn about me even though you do include even those who will start their blog tomorrow? I’m not sure if that is the Korean sense of humour. Not funny.
That’s why I have a long list of beauty brands I don’t purchase. Not that it matters to them but it matters to me. Why should I give my hard-earned money to people who don’t appreciate me? I wouldn’t do it, not even if their products are heavily discounted.
I understand your pain. It is hard to get appreciated. Well, on the brighter side you have more reason to love the brands that care for you. After all you can only use so much.
It isn’t so much being left out but the fact that they all say things they don’t mean and then conveniently forget about you. Better if they never said anything positive in the first place. I wouldn’t say things I don’t intend to fulfil. That would just make me a blatant liar.
