Philips Launches Sonicare AirFloss

Although most of us are aware that flossing teeth is a necessary step towards good dental hygiene, many of us skip it. I admit I am one of those who don’t floss on a daily basis. It’s not that I don’t floss at all but I should be flossing more diligently and regularly.

Brushing teeth is a must but it does not completely remove the food debris and bacterial plaque that may accumulate between the teeth, whereas flossing can help remove this plaque and debris. Philips launched Sonicare AirFloss this afternoon. I think of it as Clarisonic for teeth.

The Philips Sonicare AirFloss uses breakthrough microdroplet technology specially designed to make cleaning in between teeth as easy as possible while maximising plaque removal and improving gum health. It works by using a rapid burst of air and water droplets to force plaque and bacteria out. This can be particularly important for people who have had dental work done, such as braces or crowns.

The rapid burst of air and water from the Philips Sonicare AirFloss is directed using a nozzle guidance tip that ensures targeted cleaning between teeth and the simple operations means you can floss your entire mouth in a minute, while using just one teaspoon of water for one full cleaning session. The water can also be substituted with mouth wash should you so wish.

Philips Sonicare AirFloss joins the other products in the Philips Sonicare range already in Malaysia. The range, introduced in Malaysia in 2011, also comprises various toothbrushes, all of which employ Philips’ state-of-the-art sonic technology for dynamic cleaning action to deliver clinically proven oral care results. The Philips Sonicare range, which features unique bristle tip velocity, includes the #1 sonic power toothbrush most recommended by dental professionals worldwide for the past 20 years.

The recommended retail price for the Philips Sonicare AirFloss is RM699 and it is available at selected electrical stores, dental clinics and soon in branded retail outlets and on the online store www.blipmy.com
