When it comes to buffets, I really don’t know where to start as I want to sample as many dishes as possible. What if I find a dish I like a lot when I am already too full? Luckily that was not the case at the Ramadan Buffet at Hotel Istana KL last night as I found my favourite dish very early on and couldn’t get enough of it so I stuffed myself on that.
As I stepped in Hotel Istana’s Taman Sari Brasserie, I was blown away by the amazing array of kuih and jelly, a different set of desserts from the usual cakes and pastries the hotel’s café offers during buffets. I couldn’t wait to get some of the jellies as I am quite fond of them (childhood favoutite).
Firstly, let me show you the dishes I liked the most namely Chicken Butter Masala and Lamb Keema. They are both outstanding in their own ways. The former has a rich, thick sauce perfect with white or biryani rice and naan. The chicken pieces were incredibly tender, truly superb. The lamb keema consists of the most tender finely minced lamb which is so fragrant and appetising.
Too bad I didn’t have enough room to sample everything. All the dishes look very tempting but I had to reserve some space for the wide variety of jellies. My favourite is the rainbow jelly which is so instagrammable.
All in all, this Ramadan Buffet at Hotel Istana KL will feature over 100 dishes. There are local favourites as well as Indian, Western, Chinese and Fusion cuisines. The Buffet is prices at RM158 nett per adult from 8 May to 4 June 2019.
