Since I missed out on the Rene Furterer Scalp & Beauty Workshop last year presented by Damien Tavernier, the Asia Pacific Trainer of Pierre-Fabre Dermo-Cosmetique, I was determined not to miss out on this year’s which took place this morning at Cititel Hotel. The registration fee was just RM20 which is fully redeemable against Rene Furterer products at Sasa Mid Valley.

Damien introduced us to the brand and its products for the 1st hour and for the 2nd hour, we watched a demo on hair brushing and tried their most famous and iconic product, Complexe 5 on our scalp. Complexe 5 is suitable for all scalps save for the most sensitive as it gives a warming sensation. Sensitive scalps can try Astera which has cooling essential oils such as mint and eucalyptus, perfect for our warm climate.

Rene Furterer’s principal aim is to protect hair and the key ingredient in the products is essential oil which contains both treating and sensorial properties. Our scalp needs a massage evey now and then to stimulate micro-circulation, improve blood supply and promote the active penetration of treating products.

Complexe 5 is the quintessence of Rene Furterer, containing 53% essential oils. It is an optimizer which prepares the scalp and a single product that restores the beauty of hair. Although I applied the sample at the workshop hours ago, I can still smell the second-to-none scent of Complexe 5.

Next we were introduced to the different ranges. There are products for every type of hair and scalp, be it dehydrated, oily, sensitive and irritated. Products can be mixed and matched depending on your hair and scalp condition.

All of us sprayed the dry shampoo after applying Complexe 5. It has a lovely scent, doesn’t leave white marks on scalp and hair as it’s the same colour as our scalp and it’s very soothing once sprayed on to scalp. Damien’s tip is to not use a treatment shampoo everyday. Treatment shampoos such as anti-dandruff shampoos are best alternated with daily shampoos.

I love to bring this dry shampoo with me when I travel to Genting as I have bad experience bringing those liquid shampoo and they leaked out dirty my bag!

  2. i had never tried dry shampoo before as most cater to dry or normal hair. Thanks for the tips on the treatment shampoo as i tend to use anti dandruff shampoo everyday.
