When it comes to DIY hair colours, I never DIY as it’s much more convenient to have it done at my regular hair salon. Why mess around with hair colour at home and risk staining my clothes, professional service is best when it comes to this. I was at Watsons wondering which hair colour brand I haven’t tried before and Revlon was having a promotion on their Colorsilk Luminista – buy 2 boxes at RM35 while the regular price is RM21 per box. Done deal.
Revlon Colorsilk Luminista is ammonia-free, described as “vibrant color for dark hair” and has a high-shine mango butter formula. I purchased 145 Burgundy Brown which is a very natural colour. What clinched the deal was it promised 100% grey coverage. That’s exactly what I needed as the greys were showing.
The box contains a Cream Color Developer applicator in a pink bottle, bottle of Ammonia-Free Colorant and sachet of After-Color Conditioner. Being ammonia-free, this has a nice floral scent and it was applied on my hair for half an hour.
It’s more or less like my previous hair colour, hardly much difference but at last now I know it does cover the greys. I didn’t need 2 bottles but I did need 1½ bottles so am saving the remainder for the next hair colour.
Hahaha, well some prefer to DIY for the cheaper price. It is actually to DIY unless you are pro at doing it yourself and yes it is really messy.
