We’re very fortunate to be in this part of the world where we have access to so much fresh seafood, some local and some imported. One thing I look forward to is the occasional seafood buffet where I can indulge to my heart’s delight or as much as I can stomach. From now till further notice, we can all partake of Urban Hotel Istana KL seafood buffet on Friday nights @ RM125 nett per person.
Although you might think Urban is a compact restaurant, it can easily seat 120 pax and the seafood buffet offering was more than decent as there are starters, hot dishes and delectably divine desserts other than the abundance of fresh seafood such as Blue Swimming Crab, Bamboo Clam, Boiled Pacific Lobster, Boiled Tiger Prawns, Poached Pacific Clams, Poached Green Lip Mussels and my favourite fish, salmon in various forms.
The dough isn’t very thick and there’s a lot of salmon here. You will come back for more once you try this.
My favourites were the smoked salmon and smoked mackerel, so goodAl!
All the appetizers were so good but I especially liked the smoked duck.
There is a Japanese corner with a selection of California Maki, Foto Maki, Maki Roll and Mixed Sushi with shoyu, pink ginger and wasabi. There is also a selection of fresh sashimi.
I wish I had more space for all the hot dishes but after gorging on the appetizers and Japanese section such as cold soba, I had barely enough room for the wonderful desserts.
The deserts at Hotel Istana never disappoint and at this buffet, they had such a wonderful array of cakes and other mouth-watering concoctions. A must-try is the Opera Cake as it tastes as good as it looks. Also, the Honeydew Pudding is great after a heavy meal like this.
