One of my favourite local restaurants is Sepiring so I was really excited to have been one of the media invited by Sepiring to taste their latest menu additions which include Hokkien Prawn Mee and Rosy
Nyor Float. Available until 15 September 2024, these new dishes promise to satiate your cravings with its
burst of traditional flavours.

Joining other local favourites such as the Penang Assam Laksa, Pasembur, and Penang Rojak, these new items will transport Malaysians to the streets of Penang with every bite. Sepiring’s dedication to offering authentic Penang cuisine stems from a desire to share the true essence of one of Malaysia’s most famous culinary destinations.

Wong Kah Yong, Chief Executive Officer of Sepiring Café Sdn Bhd, said that as Penang is renowned for its street food with flavours perfected over generations, Sepiring ensures that customers experience Penang without compromising on quality and nostalgia.

“We chose to honour Penang because its food is universally loved and reflects the rich cultural tapestry of Malaysia,” emphasised Kah Yong. “At Sepiring, we are delighted to introduce the new Hokkien Prawn Mee and Rosy Nyor Float that continue our tradition of bringing together the diverse flavours of Malaysia, yet delivering a vibrant and savoury experience. Our team has worked tirelessly to craft recipes that not only honour traditional Malaysian cuisine but also offer a fresh and modern twist that our customers will love.”

The new limited-time dishes will also be accompanied by other local favourites such as Pasembur, a hearty mix of vegetables, seafood, and fritters; Penang Rojak, a tangy fruit and vegetable salad; Penang Assam Laksa, a tangy and spicy noodle soup; and Sago Cendol, a refreshing dessert with pandan-flavoured rice flour jelly topped with sweet palm sugar syrup.

Since its establishment, Sepiring has celebrated the rich and diverse culinary heritage of Malaysia. Translating to “sharing the same plate”, Sepiring brings people together through its meticulously curated menu, featuring a harmonious blend of flavours from all corners of the country. The new menu items continue this tradition, offering both innovative and authentic Malaysian tastes.

“Our goal at Sepiring has always been to create a dining experience that feels like home – a place where friends and family can gather to enjoy delicious food and create lasting memories. These new menu items are a testament to our commitment to culinary excellence and our passion for sharing the vivid culinary heritage of Malaysia,” added Kah Yong.

Sepiring is committed to delivering the highest standards of quality without compromising on value to ensure a perfect dining experience for all their customers. Serving thousands of customers across multiple locations in Malaysia, with eight outlets concentrated in the Klang Valley, Sepiring has previously introduced various Malaysian cuisines from several regions featuring dishes such as Dulang Warisan Timur (focusing on Kelantanese cuisine), Dulang Warisan Selatan and Dulang Omak Den (showcasing the flavours of Johor and Negeri Sembilan respectively). Their extensive menu also includes popular local favourites like Nasi Pandan with Ayam Berempah, Curry Laksa, Nyonya Nasi Ulam with Ayam Percik, and
more.

Now with the launch of the Uniquely Rasa Penang, Sepiring is once again sharing their love for food for customers to enjoy. Don’t miss out on the chance to experience the flavours of Penang right at your doorstep or visit the nearest Sepiring outlet and indulge in these delectable new offerings.

My favourite dish from this tasting session has to be the Nyonya Nasi Ulam with Ayam Percik Platter as the rice has plenty of flavourful herbs. I could eat the rice on its own without any sauces as it isn’t dry and delicious on its own. The Ayam Percik is fried nicely, golden brown and retaining its moistness in the meat.
