AXN and Astro are teaming up to deliver Asia’s first video-on-demand viewing opportunity for “Hannibal” Season 3 on the Astro-On-The-Go (AOTG) service in Malaysia. Kicking off the initiative, the first episode of “Hannibal” Season 3 debuted on video-on-demand (VOD) and AOTG at 1pm on Friday, 5 June, which is nine hours ahead of the linear channel premiere on AXN. Subsequent new episodes of the critically-acclaimed psychological thriller “Hannibal” Season 3 will be made available on AOTG simulcast with AXN’s (Astro CH 701 and in HD on CH 721) same-day-as-the US premiere on Fridays at 10pm.
Service for “Hannibal” Season 3 on Astro-On-The-Go – now anyone can watch “Hannibal” wherever they are
Following which, each aired episode will be available for catch-up viewing up to 11 September 2015. After the broadcast of the entire series, “Hannibal” Season 3 episodes will also be available for on-demand viewing by Astro Plus users through to the end of next February.
In addition, all episodes of the first and second seasons of “Hannibal” are currently available for on-demand viewing for all Astro subscribers from now till 20 June 2015. Following that, both seasons will be made available together with season 3 from September on Astro Plus.
The launch of the new initiative was marked by an exclusive lunch screening event held at ACME South Bar & Coffee café at Bangsar Village One, Bangsar on 5 June. More than 40 Astro subscribers, local bloggers and members of the media have become Asia’s first viewers to enjoy the first episode of “Hannibal” Season 3 that was simulcast with the US.
Making the global online simulcast especially thrilling this Friday will be “Hannibal” series creator and executive producer Bryan Fuller, and executive producer Martha DeLaurentiis who will live-tweet during the simulcast. ‘Fannibals’ can hashtag their Twitter posts with #AXNHannibal and viewers can include the @AXNAsia handle for their chance to chat with the creative force behind “Hannibal” on Twitter.
Based on the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, the dark and haunting series “Hannibal” returns for a third season, revealing the fates of characters hanging in the balance and the continuing psychological cat and mouse games they face.
As the action shifts to the classic European backdrop, the new season promises to be the best dressed show on TV. It’s one year on after the shocking events of the season two finale, Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) is on the run in Europe – accompanied by his psychiatrist Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) – sporting a new identity, but servicing the same insatiable appetite.
As the lives of Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne), and Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas) converge toward Hannibal again, each with their own motivations to catch him once and for all, their deadly dance turns in startling and unexpected ways. With Will and the FBI in pursuit, and without a home base, Hannibal is more vulnerable. His past is catching up with him and he knows it.
In the second half of the season, Jack implores Will to help him catch a new threat, a serial killer preying on families, known in the press as the Tooth Fairy, but self-proclaimed as The Great Red Dragon. The hunt may force Will to turn to an unwelcome source of insight – his old adversary, Hannibal.
Guess who won the Mads Mikkelsen autographed photo of Mads Mikkelsen with Hugh Dancy? Yes, I am a true blue Fannibal as I have watched every single episode of “Hannibal” from Season 1 onwards. I am so engrossed with the gore and brutality. It’s an absorbing plot and the acting is first class.
Lunch at Acme was superb and this is the kind of event I’d love to attend given the opportunity as I’m a huge fan of several series on Astro. “Hannibal” is one of my favourites and I look forward to Friday nights when I can watch the latest episode on AXN.

Congrats!
Unfortunately for all the Fine Dining Fannibals out there, it was announced in the US yesterday that the series will end after Season 3.
Nevertheless there is some attempts to get it picked up by the online streaming channels, and so there is still hope!
By the way, and and every Hannibal item will definitely be coveted after this!
