Ending the long silence is G Art Gallery’s (at G Hotel Penang) most awaited art exhibition – “STILL”. This art exhibition couldn’t have come at a better time when everyone is in search of mental quietude in the midst of all the uncertainty as we adapt to the new normal in light of this pandemic. This art exhibition brings a sense of tranquility, calmness and mindfulness to the viewer which is represented by the stillness of rock pebbles being the main subject.
G Art Gallery is delighted to present Sharon Kow, an exceptional self-taught coloured pencil artist, also known as a realism/contemporary realism artist whose style of art gravitates towards paying extreme attention to details and nuances of colour and light. Her inspirations derive from simple and everyday subjects that we usually take for granted off.
Every piece of her art reveals a deeper meaning than just a beautiful subject. While colored pencils were once considered to be primarily for kids, throughout the years they have been steadily gaining respect amongst artists as it is versatile, clean, immediate, portable and forgiving. Sharon’s coloured pencil art breathes with the commanding presence of her unique style and original imagery. Stones, rivers and pebbles come alive in her coloured pencil art with a startling realness.
She put her artistic dreams aside when she was young and decided to reignite her love for colour pencil art later in life. She is now a successful international colour pencil artist and is an inspiration to those who would love to follow her footsteps. Sharon has built a name for herself being a Signature Member of the Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA), Master Status Member of the Coloured Pencil Community of Australasia Inc. (CPCAU) and a Registered Member of the International Guild of Realism (IGOR). Her artworks have been featured and published in several international publications and have exhibited both locally and internationally.
“Still”, the art exhibition by Sharon Kow was launched on 25 September 2020 from 6pm to 7pm at G Art Gallery, Link Bridge at Level 1 to initiate the start of the exhibition which will be on display until 21 December 2020.
