Shiseido Maquillage Dual Glow Eyes

As far as Shiseido make-up is concerned, 2010 was a turning point for me with the launch of Shiseido’s Maquillage Autumn 2010 Collection. There were 5 serum cream eye shadows in this Collection that seemed easy to use and best of all, each 6g pot contained 2 colours – a highlight and a shadow colour.

My favourite of the 5 shades is GR 273 which looks like a light mint and olive green shade. Twist open the cap to gain access to the sponge applicator and completely unscrew the top half to uncover the shadows. Both shades are ultra-creamy with the highlighter shade containing micro-glitter.

For hygiene reasons, I’d rather use the sponge applicator to pick up the cream shadows instead of using my fingertips but once the shadows have been applied, I do use my fingertips to blend. I do love the silky texture of these shadows and they feel and look moisturising on my eyelids.

I have to give this top marks for easy blendability, no fall-out problems with cream shadows. The only issue I have with these shadows is that they don’t have excellent staying power as they tend to fade between 3-4 hours which makes them not the best product to be wearing on your lids if you’re going to be out all day.

As I have oily lids, I wouldn’t wear the Dual Glow Eyes if I have to be out the entire day but they are okay for weekends if I’m just out for a few hours. I guess the staying power can be prolonged by dabbing powder shadows over them but that kind of defeats the purpose of wearing the Dual Glow Eyes as I think they are very lovely on their own. There’s a certain iridiscence about these shadows that I have yet to see in other cream shadows.

Dual Glow Eyes retails at RM70.
