This is an update to my earlier post a few days ago. I’d received two out of four brooches I ordered from a seller in China and the two that arrived were in bits and pieces, so damaged that they were only fit to be thrown away. I applied for a refund of course and contacted the seller to expedite the matter/process of refund. The seller tried to bargain over the refund, at first offering RM8.24 far below the full refund of RM12.24. I rejected his offer and remained steadfast to a full refund. Then the seller offered RM11 which is really neither here nor there. If he can offer RM11, then why not RM12.24? Still want me to bear RM1.24 for what?
I referred this matter to Shopee Resolution Centre because I was getting fed up with the seller’s haggling. I had to submit evidence in the form of photos and videos. I also sent screenshots of my chat with the seller. Actually before the Shopee Agent even mediated, the seller had agreed to the full refund. He asked me to reapply for the refund but I couldn’t do so as to cancel the refund meant the RM12.24 would be transferred to the seller and it’d be my fault.
Within 24 hours of my referring the case to Shopee Resolution Centre, the matter had been resolved by a Shopee Agent who approved the full refund to my ShopeePay account. I am quite amazed that the seller tried to haggle over the small refund. Previously he’d even apologised and refunded fully to another customer (I read the customer’s comment) because of undelivered and damaged items.
Thanks to Shopee Resolution Centre for their efficiency. I hadn’t expected anyone to look into the matter until next week, this is far faster than I expected. I am so glad and grateful for the Shopee Guarantee and relieved that I buy everything I need and want on Shopee these days. It gives me peace of mind to shop online, secure in the knowledge that my rights as a buyer are protected.
