Shu Uemura Princess Collection : An Overview

Every holiday season, Shu Uemura comes up with a collection that is arguably their best of the year, a collection which tempts us with its design and  quality. This year’s holiday collection is very special as it’s a collaboration with Japan’s master of contemporary art and a leading icon of the Tokyo art scene, Takashi Murakami.

For this unique collaboration with Shu Uemura, Takashi Murakami took inspiration from his 6HP (6 Hearts Princess) animation, creating exclusive packaging featuring pink and black princess characters and their magic mascots. The Shu Uemura Holiday Collection focuses on the pink and black princess characters – because every woman has a duality within – nice and naughty, innocent and sexy.

Many of us here grew up watching Japanese animations and cartoons. Animation by Takashi Murakami is featured on all the products in this collection, it’s whimsical, fun, flirty feminine and fantastic. As Takashi Murakami put it, 6HP expresses yin and yang through the 2 princesses. The theme of this collection is “duality”. While the pink princess is pure and romantic, the black princess is depicted as cool and glamorous.

These are the highlights of the collection:-

These eye and cheek parallel palettes (RM250) are breathtakingly beautiful and that’s even before you have opened the covers. The animations on the covers are colourful and delightful. Each palette contains 7 iridescent and pearly eye shadows and 1 blush. You can look like an angelic pink princess or a coquettish black princess.

 
Lip and cheek fun-tasy (RM78) are my favourite products as they are available in such cheerful and bright colours, warms my heart just looking at them. As they are quite matte, they stay on my lips for hours without fading and look great on my cheeks too. I squeeze out a minute amount from the round tipped applicator and after applying on my lips, use the excess on my cheeks, so economical as they come in 15g tubes. Available in Dream Pink, Fuchsia Fantasy, Magical Red, Princess Coral and my favourite (how I ♥ this colour) Heroine Rose.

This mini brush set (RM200) comes in the most covetable brush case in shimmery gold with a festive design. The set contains a face brush, cheek brush, eye shadow brush and mascara/eye brow brush.

Is there a cuter looking eye lash curler than this? I think not! This heart & flower by Murakami S Curler (RM60)  is a collectable and such a must-have especially if you are in all things anime.

The princess love in wink lash (RM100) is a mini-type lash with adorable heart-shaped stone right at the outer edge. Awaken to the new princess in you with the pink and brown lashes.

How’s this for full drama? You will be the talk of the party with these black jewel on wing(RM260) lashes. Inspired by the coquettish black princess, this pair of exquisite and tailor-made premium false eyelash is decorated with super long, feather-like lashes, sparkling gold sequins and mysterious purple rings.
