Shu Uemura Ultime8 Sublime Cleansing Oil

This latest cleansing oil from Shu Uemura is like the cleansing oil of all cleansing oils, judging from its product description in their official website – 8 botanical origin oils, 8 skincare benefits. No wonder it’s called Ultime8!

These 2 x 4ml sachets of  Ultime8 Sublime Cleansing Oil are part of the contents in the Fabulous Finds Beauty Box. I haven’t been to a Shu Uemura outlet for such a long time that I wasn’t even aware that they had a bew Cleansing Oil until I looked at these samples.

Okay, 2 sachets is not going to make my skin revitalized, more translucent, refined, more radiant, suppler and so on and so forth. If any of those improvements were to be seen, I’d need to use up at minimum an entire 150ml bottle which would probably last me a month with daily usage.

Unlike most other cleansing oils, this one can be used with dry or wet palms. It’s designed with a unique cleansing oil mechanism making it more powerful than conventional cleansing oils. According to the description on their website, this new formula can hold more water without compromising on texture and removability.

This oil has a golden hue, looks like molten gold and smells of flowers, not surprising as there’s top note of Rosemary Blossom and Provence Aspic, middle note of  freesia encased with the heart of peony and bottom note of Powdery Musk and Blue Cedar.

When the oil touched my face, it was like warm melted butter. Amazing texture and sensation, I let it sit on my skin for a few seconds, slowly massaging it in to let it work. It felt so light and luxurious. I do believe this is Shu’s best cleansing oil todate. I’ve tried practically all their cleansing oils and while I really liked the Green Tea Cleansing Oil (enough to buy the 150ml bottle), this new Ultime8 Sublime Cleansing Oil wins hands down if ever there was a Battle Of The Cleansing Oils.

After washing it off, it provides so much smoothness to my skin. However, while it managed to remove all traces of powder/foundation/blush, it didn’t entirely remove my mascara but then again (to be fair), I only had 4ml to work with each time.

Shu Uemura Ultime8 Sublime Cleansing Oil is available in 2 sizes – 150ml/RM150 and 450ml/RM360.
