Sizing Up Samples : Clarins Masks

If someone were to ask me what my favourite skincare product is, I’d have to say it’s masks because they help with a myriad of skin concerns such as excess sebum, dehydration, sagging and pigmentation. Not a week goes by when I don’t use a mask. If it isn’t sheet masks, then it’s on with cream or clay masks.

Clarins has a range of masks which address different skin problems. I’ve tried the Shaping Facial Lift Wrap before and it really does help with reducing puffiness. Now I’ve tried the Pure and Radiant Mask with Pink Clay and HydraQuench Cream-Mask as well (sample sizes).

Pure and Radiant Mask with Pink Clay (50ml/RM124)

Whenever I have a pimple or two, I reach for this mask as it helps reduce the skin inflammation. It’s a pink creamy mask which has a scent redolent of roses. It doesn’t dry up like most other clay masks so skin doesn’t feel dry or tight. It remains on my skin for 10 minutes and after washing it off, I can see my skin glowing. Even though I don’t have oily skin, clay masks are a must once in a while. I like this mask a lot as it’s so easy to rinse off. Clay masks that harden are a bit more difficult to remove.

HydraQuench Cream-Mask (75ml/RM142)

This has to be the crème de la crème of hydration masks. It contains that signature HydraQuench ingredient, Katafray bark and the scent is beyond lovely. This creamy mask goes on like gossamer silk and I never want to remove it once I have it on. Just like the Pure and Radiant Mask, this one’s recommended usage time is 5-10 minutes but I have it on for like 20 minutes. I apply the entire contents of one sachet (4ml) which is rather a lot as it goes on thickly and doesn’t get completely absorbed by my skin. There is no need to rinse it off. I just wipe off the excess with toner. A wonderful hydration mask as it leaves skin über smooth and soft. The majority (if not all!) of cream hydration masks I have tried so far pale in comparison to this one.
