Souper Tang Expands Its Presence At Mid Valley, Supporting Malaysia’s Wellness Tourism Growth

YBrs. Tuan Samuel Lee Thai Hung, Deputy-Director General II (Promotions) of the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (Tourism Malaysia), officiated the grand opening of Souper Tang’s new outlet at Mid Valley Megamall yesterday. In the presence of prominent associations including the ASEAN Retail Franchise Federation (ARFF), Malaysia Retail-Chain Association (MRCA), Branding Association Malaysia (BAM), Malaysia Budget Hotel Association (MBHA), SME Association, Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents (MATTA), Malaysian Association of Themepark & Family Attractions (MATFA), and the Malaysia Association of Hotels (MAH), the event emphasized the importance of wellness tourism and culinary heritage. Souper Tang’s role in advancing these themes aims to support the upcoming ‘Visit Malaysia 2026’ campaign.

The grand opening ceremony of the new Souper Tang outlet at Mid Valley Megamall was part of the brand’s ongoing commitment to expanding its footprint across the country and beyond. Established in 2009 as Taang Shifu, Souper Tang has become a pioneer in promoting Chinese wellness cuisine, with 17 outlets nationwide and new locations set to open in Singapore.

This latest addition marks a significant milestone in the brand’s mission to make authentic, health-conscious dining more accessible to a wider audience. Souper Tang’s dedication to nutritious, carefully crafted signature recipes, featuring ingredients like ginseng, cordyceps, and angelica root, continues to bring generations-old culinary traditions to modern diners.

To mark the occasion, the grand opening festivities included an officiating soup-pouring ceremony by celebrity actor Jack Lim, who also invited over 50 lucky fans to join a special interactive session where he distributed Souper Tang vouchers and gifts. Guests were also entranced by a traditional Chinese dance performance, and a contemporary Lion dance, which added vibrancy to the event.

With Mid Valley being Souper Tang’s 17th outlet in Malaysia, the brand is now available nationwide in Johor, Klang Valley, Penang, Malacca, and Perak. Located at Level 1, South Court, Mid Valley Megamall the new Souper Tang outlet offers a range of products, including bird’s nests and specially curated hampers, providing customers with more ways to enjoy their wellness-focused offerings.

Starting 17 November, Souper Tang’s flagship outlet at Sunway Pyramid will introduce a revolutionary new product, adding to the brand’s commitment to wellness-focused dining. To mark this launch, customers purchasing SouperFast Herbal Soups in sets of 6, 12, or 20 can look forward to exclusive gifts, including a SoupMate Thermos, Multifunctional Electric Cooker, or Electric Ceramic Pot.
