If there was one tv series I was watching avidly back in the 90s, it was the Star Trek series, i.e. The Next Generation, Voyager and Deep Space Nine. I don’t read much science fiction but I really enjoyed the storylines in each Star Trek. Of course Patrick Stewart made a very memorable Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Now he is back in Star Trek Picard and of course I have been watching every episode and await each new episode with much anticipation.
Star Trek Picard takes place after Picard (now Admiral) has retired to his French vineyard and it’s 18 years after Star Trek Nemesis (2002). It’s the end of the 24th century, to be exact 2399 and Picard still dreams of the long deceased Commander Data who was his dearest friend and who sacrificed his life for Picard.
It’d be too long to go into the details of each episode but the plot centres on synthetic androids who are seen as a threat. Picard goes in search of synthetic Soji after her twin sister Dahj is killed by Romulan assassins. both are children of Commander Data. This series brings back characters from Star Trek The Next Generation and Star Trek Voyager such as William Riker, Deanna Troi and Seven of Nine. It’s great to see these characters from the series they were in more than 2 decades ago albeit older.
