Several bloggers were invited to Clarins Skin Spa at KLCC recently for a preview of Clarins new HydraQuench range which will be available from 1st September 2011. I will post the details of the presentation and products later as this is about the Moisture Replenisher Facial which bloggers were treated to after the presentation.
There has been an upgrade of Clarins facials in that more products are used from their PRO range (not available at the counters as they are only for professional use) and more emphasis on pampering the customer during the facial with masssages. I have had Clarins facials but that was some time ago when they were known by different names as well.
As the name of my facial suggests, the Moisture Replenisher is about improving skin hydration. It’s a facial which has been specifically formulated for Asian skins. Clarins facials do not employ the use of machines, the entire procedure is carried out with the therapist’s hands and as most people know, there is no extraction.
The 5 treatment rooms in Clarins Skin Spa KLCC consist of 3 facial rooms and 2 body treatment rooms, all of which are spacious. The body treatment rooms have attached showers for customers’ convenience. It’s certainly much better than having to put on a robe and dashing across the hallway to the shower.
Before the facial, the therapist analysed my skin and asked me what my concerns were. With the new facials, customers inform the therapist what their primary and secondary concerns are and the treatment will be based on those concerns, e.g. hydration and firmness in my case. The therapist diagnosed other problems with my skin, i.e. eye bags, dryness around the eye area, uneven skin tone. I’m not surprised.
After cleansing my face of makeup and impurities with cleansing milk, the therapist applied peeling lotion and gentle exfoliating cream to rid my skin of dead skin cells. Then she applied shaping facial lift and a PRO range supplement (there are 7 supplements altogether, used according to a customer’s needs) with a cupping motion which is how Clarins recommends customers to use with their skincare at home.
Next, the age fighting facial supplement and orchidee blue oil (a lovely scented oil which was used on me during previous Clarins facials) were used to massage my face. A hydrating supplement was applied before the ultra hydrating cream mask was put on my face.
While the mask was on my face, the therapist massaged my hands and scalp. I could feel myself dozing off which I rarely do during facials. It was very relaxing and perhaps the scent from the products helped me drift off to a cat’s nap.
After the mask was cleansed, a radiance supplement was applied followed by HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase and HydraQuench Cream-Melt. Eye cream and sunblock were also applied to complete the facial. My face was glowing and well hydrated afterwards. There’s nothing like a hydrating facial to boost skin’s moisture level.
