With so many new foundations being introduced every other month, it’s hard to determine what makes one special and unique from others. Benefit launched its brightening foundation, Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Brightening Makeup weeks ago. It comes in 9 shades and builds from light to medium coverage.
One of the best things about this foundation is that it has relatively high SPF 25 PA +++. Most foundations only have SPF 15 so one can do without higher SPF sunscreen if there’s no direct sun exposure. The bottle is plastic but it doesn’t look cheap. The pump is very good as it pumps out as little or as much as you could possibly want with one pump. What I am trying to say is that the pump is easy to control. There is no foundation residue around the pump unlike a certain Lancome foundation (ugh!).
This foundation has an oil-free formulation but I can’t put that claim to the test since I don’t have oily skin. However, it did not oxidise on my skin all day and stayed put despite having it on for more than 8 hours. As a medium coverage foundation, it probably won’t be suffiicent for those with serious pigmentation problems but it is light and sheer if you want it to be. While it evens out complexion, skin still looks natural but brighter and less dull.
With unceasingly hot and humid days, the last thing anyone wants is a heavy and cakey foundation. Not with this one, rest assured as it has a very fluid texture and if you’re looking for a slightly dewy and luminous finish, this one delivers. It has a Hydrating Complex which may explain why my skin never feels dry whenever this foundation is applied.
My shade of foundation is Ivory which is the lightest of all the shades and this suits me perfectly as it blends seamlessly into my skin. I rarely say I love any product but I do love this one and it helps my aging skin to know that it contains vitamin C & E derivatives to prevent signs of aging. Let’s hope it really does so!
